i had a problem formatting before using my XP CD.
Smetimes u mite face errors in btw lke some file is missin n all n makes the whole format n reinstall process tough n irritating.
Thrs a simple tip to do this.U cn format n reinstall ur windows wid out booting frm d CD.
Just copy ur OS CD Data to ur C drive n in it ull find a folder called i386.In this folder thrs a file called Winnt32.exe.Just run tat file n ur format n reinstallation will b much easier widout d need to boot frm CD.]
