Internet Explorer reached at a peak in 2002-03 gaining 95 % share of browser usage, with it's most popular IE5 and IE6versions. Currently as a top best browser IE has around 44 % usage share.
Internet Explorer 9 is the choice for Windows 7 when considering security and for the enhanced compatibility. Its IE8 that is the best Web browser for Windows 7. You should try IE8 if you are looking for the optimized performance for Windows 7.

#7 RockMelt

RockMelt is a free social media web browser developed by Tim Howes and Eric Vishria. The project is backed by Netscape founder Marc Andreessen.RockMelt integrates a technique for surfing the web that focuses on Google Search and social media, in particular Facebookand Twitter.
The browser was launched in private beta on November 8, 2010. and now it is in the public version beta. Until March 2011, users were required to connect their Facebook account to the website in order to download it.RockMelt supports Windows and Mac OS X platforms.

RockMelt is based on Google's open-source project Chromium, now on version 18. This is a cross-platform family of browsers that use the open-source web layout engine WebKit—jointly built by Apple, Google, and the open-source community—but have the JavaScript engine replaced by Google's own V8, also open-source.

#8 SeaMonkey
While some internet browsers are for-profit applications backed by major corporations, the SeaMonkeybrowser suite is an open-source, community-driven project. This means any developers, marketers or testers interested in contributing to the development of the internet browser can do so. However, many of SeaMonkey’s inherent drawbacks are a result of its open-source platform, and the browser lacks the sleekness and ease of use the top internet browsers in our lineup possess.
The hallmark feature of SeaMonkey is the fact that it is an all-in-one internet suite. This means not only does it provide browsing capabilities, it also has an email client, built-in chat and a WYSIWYG (“what you see is what you get”) editor that helps you build simple, basic websites. Subsequently, SeaMonkey is a good default browser if you are seeking an all-inclusive internet suite that limits the number of individual applications you need to utilize.
We also liked that the browser supports most of the add-ons and extensions compatible with Mozilla’s Firefox; both internet browsers use the same rendering engine. SeaMonkey also offers beneficial features such as a password manager, customizable toolbars and the ability to restore sessions. The internet browser, however, doesn’t provide many of the more advanced features we looked for in web browsers. It doesn’t provide mouse gestures or voice interaction for multimodial browsing, nor does it have a native RSS feeder or the ability to save bookmarks.

#9 Deepnet Explorer
Deepnet Explorer isn’t nearly as flashy or sleek as most of its competitors, but the internet browser performs its primary function of web browsing well. The browser’s main focus is on facilitating P2P networking and RSS feeds, and while it delivers several useful tools and features, Deepnet Explorer fails to stand out among the competition.
Deepnet Explorer provides most of the fundamental features we were looking for in web browsers. For starters, it provides tabbed browsing, a built-in search function and the ability to bookmark websites. Deepnet Explorer also provides basic toolbar customization, and you can navigate webpages using the browser’s integrated mouse gestures and keyboard shortcuts.
As mentioned above, the internet browser’s standout features are its support of P2P networking and an RSS news reader. P2P, or peer-to-peer, networking is a type of file sharing integrated directly into the internet browser. Deepnet Explorer’s RSS feature comes with many popular news feeds preinstalled, and you can add as many as you want. The browser allows you to organize the feeds in an intuitive tree structure, and you can use the toolbar to search the feeds by keyword.

#10 Avant Browser
The Avant Browser is a professional-looking internet browser that boasts decent performance. The browser is based on Internet Explorer and includes basic features such tabbed browsing, RSS feeds and a find-on-page function. The browser falls short in comparison to our higher-ranked internet browsers, but existing Internet Explorer users may enjoy the functionality the internet browser provides.
Some of the features the Avant Browser provides are automatic updates, a password manager and an integrated Internet Explorer search engine. The browser also utilizes a multi-processing design. This means each open tab functions as an independent process, so if one crashes, it doesn’t crash the entire window. We also liked that the browser has a convenient undo function you can use when you accidently close a tab. What the internet browser doesn’t have is parental controls and a seamless download manger that lets you download files without having an annoying pop-up window open. Avant Browser also does not have a spell-checker or synchronization capabilities. The latter would allow you to sync your saved bookmarks and browsing preferences so you can access them from any computer.
